Rocket Booster – Pilot Badge
This is your first opportunity to show us all of your rocketry skills. It’s time for you to make your first ever rocket!
Build and launch a rocket (from scratch or a kit). We recommend launching at a club!

Rocket Booster – Aero Badge
It’s time to start testing what’s possible. Launch your rocket in a different configuration. Can you fly on a more powerful engine? Can you fly with a different size parachute?
What happens when you change different factors?

Rocket Booster – Astro Badge
The last badge of Rocket Boosters – this is a big challenge.
Can you create a rocket with 3 engines? Can you put electronics in your rocket? Can you do both? What’s the coolest thing you can make your rocket do?

How to earn your Rocket Booster badges:
Pilot Badge:
To earn your Pilot badge, you need to build and launch your own rocket, either from scratch or a kit.
- Build a model rocket
- Successfully launch and recover your rocket – we recommend doing this at a designated launch area
- Log the launch on your profile when you’re in the field, and select this badge
Aero Badge:
To earn your Aero Badge, you need to launch your rockets on different motors and different recovery methods
- Build a model rocket
- Launch your model rocket on different motors e.g an A motor then a B motor
- Launch your rocket on different recovery methods e.g a parachute and then a streamer
- Log the launch on your profile when you’re in the field, and select this badge
Astro Badge:
To earn your Astro Badge, you need to successfully build and launch the following 3 rockets:
- A model rocket with a cluster of 3 motors!
- Build a payload rocket to carry 1 raw hens egg – without cracking!
- Fly a rocket with electronics on board, e.g a camera
